Hard working mom of 7 (4 by birth, 3 adopted in their teens out of foster care). I’m overweight and out of shape but I’ve always enjoyed traveling, camping, walking, gardening and swimming; it’s been challenging to adjust to those activities with big hats, long sleeves and extra sunscreen. Several of my close relatives have had cancers of various types but I’m the only melanoma patient among us. My melanoma was discovered at the earliest possible stage, but I’m not taking anything for granted; I’ll continue to be vigilant against any reoccurence for the rest of my life.
