Hi there – I do not see your picture, but it is good that you went to the doctor to get it checked out. I have read on this forum that most melanomas grow slowly over time. So, even if it takes a few weeks to see your specialist, it is unlikely that it would change your diagnosis.
I had a thin melanoma (.8 mm) removed from my arm in 2013 (stage 1A, WLE & SLNB clear) and have been getting regular check ups ever since. I've had many suspicious moles removed since then (including one yesterday) and two that I'd had for a long time were moderately dysplastic while the rest were benign.
Hang in there while you wait for your appointment.
