Bio

I am a 41 old female that has always been active outdoors from running, biking to fishing and crabbing.. I noticed a freckle on my upper lip in mid 2017 and it got darker and bigger and went to dermatologist November 2017. She performed a biopsy shave which was diagnosed as mildly atypical lentiginous melanocytic). The spot reappeared 2 months later and another shave biopsy was performed and it was diagnosed as moderately to sever atypical lentiginous. I was also given Immiquimod for 5 weeks and we thought it worked. But it did not and the spot reappeared in January 2019 and it was diagnosed as desmoplastic melanoma (accounts for only 4% of melanomas).

The last 3-4 years I wear sunscreen all the time and completely cover my body outdoors but desmoplastic melanoma is sun damage from as a child … on. I currently live in Florida which doesn’t help the situation. I am currently a patient at Moffit and July 10, 2019 I will have my first diagnoses CT scan to check my lymph nodes.
