Melanoma International Foundation is a fraction of the size of MRF. It's based 120 miles from DC near Philadelphia, so it almost meets your 100 mile limit… Has excellent educational webinars on new treatments, is a moderated forum with top-knotch oncologists as consultants, and also has a new but small "innovative grants" program in melanoma, with no overhead charges allowed, which means the money goes much further, since most grants have a huge chunk raked off by the university centers involved. Check out their website, and if you're interested, contact Catherine Poole, their president.
