I didn’t have any side effects, except a little itching skin on my leg after the first infusion. Everything was normal.

My husband had four treatments; he had significant itching and fatigue but that was it. Much easier than Interferon! Best wishes to you!

                      Hi,

Everyone is different with their response to Yervoy (Ipi).  Some have many side effects, some have no side effects and some are somewhere in the middle.

My husband was stage IV in Oct. 2010 and started a clinical trial with Ipi (10mg/kg) and GMCSF in March 3, 2011 before it was released to be known as Yervoy (March 26, 2011 at 3 mg/kg).  He had itching, fatigue, his eyebrows turned white (oncologist said was a good sign meaning it was working), he lost pigmentation of the skin on the face and neck and his body quit producing prednisone (cortisol).  He had lesions in his liver, lungs and an unresectable on at the Cervical spine c-1 c-2 area with some sub q's also in this area.  We literally took pictures every three weeks of the area with the sub q's and watched them disappear.  He became NED in late 2011 and went off of the clinical trial in Dec. 2013.  After the initial 4 doses in 12 weeks he went into maintenance doses at every 12 weeks and during the whole time the GMCSF was self injected shots given every day for 14 days with 7 days off and then restart.  You can read more about him in his profile if you would like.
