Hi
I read in a past post that Melanoma is radioresistant …. So chances are Whole Brain radiation is not very effective…. My husband just was told he has 24 tumors in his brain… Going to start on Monday.
If you have any thought or input… It would be greatly appreciated.
God Bless all of you.
Evie

I'm hoping for the best for your husband. Just curious, though. Why radiation, and not one of the immunotherapy drugs? (Yervoy, Keytruda, Opdivo) Or have they already been tried?

He has had 4 doses of Keytruda. He was supposed to have his 5 th dose tomorrow. Has been throwing up for the last month… On and off. Dr sent him for a Brain MRI yesterday.(had a brain MRI in May .. Two tiny nodules were there they said wait and recheck). Dr.said Ketruda not working…. ??? Was on Opdivo had Colitis switched to Keytruda… Cancer did spread to small bowel on Keytruda… (Also spread to spleen and lining of stomach on Opdivo) Now this blow out in the brain… Needless to say we are devastated . Nurse told me no more Keytruda.

Hi Evie,
So sorry for what you and your husband are dealing with. I'm guessing your husband is BRAF negative since you didn't mention his having used BRAF inhibitors. But, that is one thing you might consider if possible. At any rate, here is a post that covers a review of brain met management and links within to other brain met info. I realize your husband has already been through a great deal and this may be of little help to you.
Sorry I don't have more to offer. Mostly just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and wishing you well. Celeste
