Just wanted to hear others experiences with toxicities and permanently stopping treatment early. My husband had 2 x ipi / nivo before developing a severe colitis / enteritis (whole GI tract involved) – requiring infliximab. After a steroid wean resumed nivolumab and has developed a severe / dramatic arthritis affecting multiple large joints and after several weeks of 1mg/kg prednisolone and intraarticular injections from rheumatology it has eventually settled. He has had other more minor toxicities with skin rash etc but these are both severe grade 3. Including gaps for steroids etc he has only been on treatment ? 5 months. Oncology have expressed concern regarding his risk of future toxicities and we wonder will they risk resuming it. His last and only scan since starting treatment showed no evidence of the lung metastases which he presented with so he has responded well. He is an other well, young man with no other medical history. For now – we obviously need to wean steroids and consider DMARD possibly – but just wonder have others with multiple severe toxicities been able to resume treatment. He is BRAF negative.
