          Basically, they did studies in mice and in 2 humans and suggest that 5-FU cream can prevent the occurrance of cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas while you're on Zelboraf or Dabrafenib. Mostly conceptual, pre-clinical for now.

            Basically, they did studies in mice and in 2 humans and suggest that 5-FU cream can prevent the occurrance of cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas while you're on Zelboraf or Dabrafenib. Mostly conceptual, pre-clinical for now.

                Thank you for your reply.  It was good to learn what stage this research is in.  But maybe this will cause doctors to try it on their own even before any bigger studies are organized.  I paid attention to the study because it seemed to me that a treatment which reduced one type of skin cancer but allowed others to grow had some significant downsides.
