Hi Gene, I fell into the trap yesterday and I just wanted to say that I am sorry for the Quack comment. I looked back at older posts and I should have realized that you have been putting up this Quack stuff and getting people all fired up since March 31 of 2011. I lost count some where in the 30's of Quack postings. I take my hat off to you for Quacking for so long. Wishing you the best and happy Quacking. Ed

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
BTW, in case you haven't heard the original "quackwatch" left town before being sued for forgery!

Just for the record:
What you have said here about Quackwatch is incorrect. First, founder Stephen Barrett is still going strong. Second, the lawsuit you mention was Barrett himself suing someone else for defamation, though is much more complicated, and I can find no reference to forgery ever having been involved. It is simple enough to find this even on Rationalwiki. Barrett is a psychiatrist born in 1933 who retired in the 1990s in good standing and as far as I can tell continues to be Webmaster of Quackwatch to this day. Please check your facts.

Quackwatch is an invaluable site for patients with cancer, there is so much dangerous drivel being pushed on them as potential cures. It is one of the sources of information approved of or recommended by JAMA and the American Medical Association, among many others. As cancer patients, we need to be very, very careful about internet web sites and claims being made, where our choices not only can affect our survival but the quality of our lives as we battle this disease.
And what you say about truth has occasionally been the case, but in no way does that make your own assertion true.

I dunno if the stuff is true but I haven't had chips, soda or any of that junk for over a year. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and some lean meats for me. Thanks to someone on here I even changed from cow milk to almond milk and I actually like it better.
It really hit me last monday when I visited my cousin's son as he was getting his treatment. I couldn't remember the last time I actually opened a package of something and ate it. He was scarfing down lots of their packaged snacks. But he has been battling his cancer almost a year longer than me.
So I dunno. I feel stronger and better when I have a good meal. The first nutrionist we talked to at the first hospital said something that has stuck with me. He said yes there are various foods and things to eat and avoid that may help against cancer but you gotta feed your good cells. When I asked with what. He said lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and lean meats like sirloin steak.
If I understand these immunotherapy medicines right they try to motivate our immune system. Before this disease it was tv dinners, fast food and about a liter of soda a day and almost no exercise. I don't believe that was very good for me or my immune system. So eatting better (or at least what I believe is better) may not prevent cancer or help get rid of it but maybe it will keep me strong enough to fight it. Especially that raw okra π yummy yummy yummy it's so good for my tummy π hehe
