Nahmi, I am so sorry for everything you are going thru with your father. Melanoma is a nasty, unpredictable disease! Every case is individual, and every treatment response can vary! I will tell you that some people benefit from WBR and that Temodar can slow things down. However, factors that can affect the response, are the size of the brain mets, if symptoms are present, age of individual, overall health, etc. With all that said, my husband did WBR, finishing in November, and within a few weeks started biochemo, which included temodar, and he finished six cycles the end of March. While his last scans, end of April show that some of his tumors (lungs, outside stomach) are growing again, his MRI was fine! So, we moved on to another treatment with a sigh of relief on his brain MRI, knowing that we have eight weeks to breathe before we climb the next mountain, scans in June! My husband is young (48) and very healthy, so WBR and temodar were the right choice for us to stabilize things, we are still standing 7 months later! All the best to your Dad and your family,
          Valerie (Phil’s wife)
