Hello – I have 2 questions I wanted to pose to the group regarding the TAF/MEK combo.

      1)  Has anyone NEVER had a fever but still responded?

      2)  For those that did have fevers, how long did it take for them to start?

Thanks for any input you can provide.  Much appreciated!

Never had a high fever.  Maybe an occassional fever below 100.  Responded for 18 months.

Thank you Mat. Very helpful.   My husband has been on the combo for 12 days now and so far he has not had any side effects (maybe a little more tired than ususal).

                    I had fever after 2 months (38 – 39 Degrees with Shivering).

Doctor advised me to take Paracetamol 500mg (1-1-1)..

The fever went away after 3 Days.

Doctor also advised me not to STOP TAF/MEK combo because of fever.

These days i have fever every 2 – 4 Weeks.

After an initial and very effective beat-down with BRAF inhibitor Zelboraf (with horrendous side-effects) I did TAF/MEK and got stable disease for about 6 months.  No side-effects to speak of from TAF/MEK.

Thanks Gary – so I guess the thought that more side effects = better response may not be true for all.

                                      Hi Julie,

I'd say nothing is true for all.  If there's anything we have learned is that as much as we are all the same, we are in-fact different.  I still lean toward the side-effects equal response since overall, I have suffered few side-effects from a long list of treatments, and have also been mostly a non-responder.  I do very much hope your husband does get great benefits from TAF/MEK without suffering too many side-effects.  best in the battle.
