Hello, I am new to the community and am hoping someone will be able to share some insight. I noticed a brown spot on the bottom of my foot last Friday afternoon. It was in a hard to see place on my right foot just beneath my pinky toe and I was immediately concerned. I've been trying not to consult Dr. Google but the little I read is freaking me out. I am 6 months postpartum with my second child and have been experiencing anxiety as it is. I know worrying isn't going to help or change the outcome but I can't help it. I'm trying very hard to be positive but I also want to be realistic. So I called and got in for a last minute appointment with the dermatologist last Friday and she biopsied it right away. It looks like she cut around it and scooped it out. She told me the results will take 2-3 weeks but I have a follow up scheduled for a week from this Friday which will be 2 weeks after the biopsy. I don't think it passed the ABCD's. Any thoughts on this? TIA

All by itself, a mole on your foot isn't "suspicious".  Since you don't know how long you've had it or if it was changing, we can't give you any useful advice.  The only way to know for certain is a biopsy, and you've had that.  As hard as it is, waiting AND NOT CHECKING OUT MR. GOOGLE is the only choice.  If, for some reason, it comes back more concerning, you can consult MR. GOOGLE (or better yet come here where you have experienced patients who know the ropes) then.  Until then, you won't find the answer you are looking for on the internet and will most likely scare yourself more than you already have.

Thank you for your quick response. The dermatogist thought it was suspicious enough to cut the whole things (and then some) out and biopsy right away based on the color, diameter, border and asymmetry. I am hoping she was just being precautious since we don't know how long it has been there. I may have results next week. I'm staying off the Internet and pray I have good results to report back!

I am Stage IV with no outward sign of melaonma on my skin. So finding that spot is really a blessing, if that's what it is. I think if you look at the stats, even if it is a suspicious mole, your early action will leave you with a good outcome, and imagine your relief when it comes back all clear!
