I like it too – just a note. I just responded to someone's thread – hit "reply" – not "reply anonymously" – and I also didn't click the box at the bottom of the comment field saying "post as anonymous" – but noticed my comment did post anonymously. I'm sure it's just a glitch with the switch but thought you should know. Thanks!

Hi, Tim, Shelby and your website redesign crew-
The new website looks great! Very nice. And you have retained enough of the old terminilogy and functionality that I can still find my way around pretty easily. Whew! I was worried about that.
I do have a couple of questions/observations:
1. "New posts" used to appear in a yellow box, now they don't. This makes it difficult to quickly find posts that I have not yet read, especially when the thread gets very long.
2. Where is the chat room? Is that moved or gone?
3. Within your "Understanding Melanoma" tab, you have several helpful sub-categories categories under "Ocular Melanoma" but not under the other types of melanoma. Why is that?
4. Once I post this message, I will know if the long delay for redirect is cured.
I expect it is. Overall a very nice job! Thank you so much!

Hi,
So glad it posted quickly for you! We're definitely very excited about that as well, trust me! Let me address the items you asked about:
1. That "new posts" feature was added in a couple of years ago, so I'll make sure that it is brought to the attention of our website developers to hopefully be brought through in the second phase of the website re-design.
2. The chat room is still here (http://www.melanoma.org/find-support/patient-community/chat), and you can get to it by navigating from the homepage to Find Support –> Chat. It's the bottom option on that list.
3. The reason we have additional pages under the ocular melanoma section is because, as you know, the majority of our website focuses on cutaneous melanoma. But, since the launch of our initiative on ocular melanoma, CURE OM, we have had the need (and the resources) to beef up our information on ocular melanoma. The treatment options and treatment centers are quite different than with cutaneous so we have tried to meet the needs of our new/additional community members.
4. YAY!
Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Thanks, Shelby. I did eventually find the chat room. I can get to it from "Find Support" in the blue bar. But I can't get to it by using the breadcrumbs. The "Home > Find Support > Patient Community" page (http://www.melanoma.org/find-support/patient-community ) does not mention the chat room.
It would be most helpful to a link to the chat room to the right hand navigation panel of the MPIP forum and the Off-Topic forum along with a note about how many people are in chat right now.
I like your suggested times for looking to chat. Good idea!

The link for chat comes up for me in a box on the right. It is also on the main menu under ‘find support’. But I agree it should be listed on the secondary page with the bulletin boards. The chat room status is missing and I was informed that it somehow got overlooked for this release. Bummer. But I believe they do have that on their to do list. Chat times are nice but the room has never really worked that way in all the years I’ve used it. Seeing people in there is what has brought people into the room in the past… unless they hire or find someone to volunteer to monitor the room at the specified chat times. -

Janner, You are completely correct. I have been in the chat room for 8-10 hours at a time lately and not had anybody come in. The few times one comes in, they often go out within seconds. WE have to be able to see when some one is in there and be able to quickly jump over to that window. We also need to be able to store enough info from a conversation that the one getting information can either print the info out directly or at least copy most of the conversation to a word processor so that they can keep and review the information they have been provided. I'm not sure that I have any real expectation that the chat will ever work as good as Jeff had it working 6 or 7 years ago. I remember one time that we had over 20 people in it chatting for hours. I would also like to see the times for each post re-instated when we hit the enter key.

Great work on the new site. One issue I found … we used to be able to sort by "Reply Post Date" and that function no longer seems to be working. Any chance that could be reinstated?

I like it too – just a note. I just responded to someone's thread – hit "reply" – not "reply anonymously" – and I also didn't click the box at the bottom of the comment field saying "post as anonymous" – but noticed my comment did post anonymously. I'm sure it's just a glitch with the switch but thought you should know. Thanks!

Miss having a reply button aat the bottom of the page. Now have to scroll all the way back up to the top to enter a new response to the origiinal post, vice a response to the last post.

I have been hanging in the chat room while reading the BB. A couple of people had been there when I went to the chat to check it. I never heard the "BONG" when they came in, that I listen for so that I can jump back to chat when someone else comes in.

On the main bulletin board page with all the topics listed showing how many new replies since last time I looked was really helpful, and then when clicking on the topic and having the new replies in yellow was also great. It made it much more user friendly so I don’t have to click on every topic and read through all posts to see if there is anything new. I hope this feature gets added to the new format.
Thanks;) -

Agree, It hasn't been, but maybe it should be for a while so that the data there can be made more valid for people reviewing the PATNET/PROFILE's. I realize that the error in this field is due to the error in a previous update to the software that reset our initial registration date. Woould like to the the correct registration month and year correct at least. Janner, you've been here so long that just the Year might be enough for your case!

Post a response.
"Go to the top of page."
Then" subscribe to"
then go to "Subscribe to this feed using ————"
then click "Subscribe now."
Goes to overall responses to the main post topic.
Nothing then tells me how to get back to the Main BB.
This is awkward. -

Why after my last reply did I go to the OM BB instead of the Main Melanoma BB? Was it because I had earlier, in another window, looked at the OM BB?
