Nerve Pain in Groin

      Today, five days after the groin lymph node biopsy I'm having awful nerve pain. The incision is at the top of my thigh and towards the inside of my leg. The glue that was used to close the incision is starting to crack and peel off. I think that is pulling the swollen areas downward and causing the pain. I have a call into my doctor. Has anyone else experienced nerve pain after lymph nodes were removed?

          Nerve pain is common with any surgery going through the skin.  Nerves are cut and stretched.  Talk to your doc but it happens.  I had a WLE on my back under my bra band that bothered me for over 2 years – pressure on it drove me crazy.  If nerves are going to heal/regrow, they do so slowly – like 1/2" per month.  It's not uncommon to not regain feeling in areas too – the nerves don't regrow.

                Thanks Janner for your reply. This is burning, hot nerve pain but it's not right across the incision, it's further down my leg. The nurse called back but was very unhelpful and said I feel it because I'm moving around more. For some reason, they just don't want me to use ice on or near the incision. Every non cancer surgery I've had recommended ice to reduce inflammation.

                  Thanks Janner for your reply. This is burning, hot nerve pain but it's not right across the incision, it's further down my leg. The nurse called back but was very unhelpful and said I feel it because I'm moving around more. For some reason, they just don't want me to use ice on or near the incision. Every non cancer surgery I've had recommended ice to reduce inflammation.

                      This nerve pain just won't quit, it's really intense. I didn't think removal of just 2 lymph nodes would cause this. It's quite swollen over the incision also. 

                      I did write directly to the Chief Surgeon to see what can be done if anything to settle this down. It may take him longer to get back to me but better than being routed to a nurse that isn't very helpful. When I had a tumor removed from my arm a long time ago they had me massaging and pushing the fluid back up my arm to reduce the fluid build up.
