      Hello,

Last Thursday my father was taking to the ER for an ALOC (altered level of consciousness) a CT scan was done of his head and a tumor was found on his brain. The tumor was removed last Friday and was determined to be a metastatic melanoma tumor (stage IV). He came home from the hospital yesterday  6 days after brain surgery, and will be undergoing the cyberknife within the next 4 weeks. My mother just found out that his health insurance from his employer only covers $25,000.00 per year for medical care.My family is floored, how can an insurance policy be so minimal?

My question is, are there any sources or foundations or organizations that help with cancer treatments? We live in California and at this point fear that the hospital will not do the cyberknife surgery.
