You didn't say, however, are you seeing a melanoma specialist? At stage 4 you shouldn't be relying on a GP. They just don't have the knowledge, experience, and contacts with the latest treatments for melanoma. Are you having regular CT scans? Blood work? Above all, seek out a melanoma specialist.

I have seen a specialist once,I have an oncologist,no I don’t have any of things mentioned for at least 6 months,i have told them about the new lumps but no1 seems interested, more worried about the depression its caused,i shouldn’t complain about new Zealands free health care but i do feel like I’m being put in the ” to hard” pile as there are things wrong wif my stomach the docs think i have a tumor in there somewhere Bt yet nothings being done, sometimes its so bad I’m bed ridden and can’t eat for weeks and have to live off supplement drinks. -

You really need to see a melanoma specialist and it sounds like you need a CT scan ASAP. I don't know how the health system works in NZ, however, it sure sounds like they're passing you off as too costly to treat. Start making some waves with health care management and try to push for better care (from a knowledgeable specialist). If they already suspect a tumor is present, what is their course of action? Is there a health care ministry that you can contact?

I have tried contacting the ministry before but to no prevail,my oncologist has even told me and my wife that no one at the hospital wants to take responsibility for me because there are to many different things wrong with me,my melanoma specialist sent me for an ultra sound on some lumps Bt got sent away because they were to hard to get to and see so dnt worry about it.although how gutless it sounds I have given up on help from my doctors now as its like banging my head against a wall -
