Hi there,

I am new to the forum. I was diagnosed with stage III(3b) back in March of this year after discovering a lesion on my cheek and have started immunotherpay with nivolumab going back the last two months. I have also run my genetic status using Oncoplex (I am being treated at SCCA here in Seattle) and have the BRAF600E mutation along with CTNNB1 and p.S33F , a high TMB (total mutation burden) and negative MSI (microsatellite instability). Along with regular ‘traditional’ screening I was considering liquid biopsy screening for early detection for potential recurrence (monitoring).

I have looked at and spoken with several companies including Biocept (https://biocept.com/melanoma/) and Inivata (https://www.inivata.com/our-products/invisionseq/). Does anyone out there have any experience or thoughts on Lbx monitoring for early detection? This is a relatively new space folks are playing in and reimbursement can vary, many of these companies will help to a degree.

  Hi Dale, I came across this article last week from Dr. Janis M Taube working at John Hopkins that I think you might find interesting. Her full article was published in Jama Oncology but you need to buy it to read full article but this cole’s notes version was on ASCO post. What is interesting is the part about (mIHC/IF) Immunohistochemistry /immunofluorescence.     this is a good link describing therapy (also very important), my question is around surveillance/monitoring for recurrence. Appreciate the feedback however.

  I think this methodology will become an important tool in regard to diagnosing and monitoring melanoma patients. Unfortunately, I don’t think we have this a real option yet….but hopefully, soon!!!! celeste
