Keytruda side effects

You'll find a wide range of Keytruda experiences.  I'll give you mine:

First couple treatments – some fatigue.  This is really common.

About 4 treatments in I experienced some kind of vitiglio around my hands.  It oddly resolved itself over the next several months.  My doc took pictures, but wasn't super concerned.  We don't know what it was

About 8-12 treatments in, I started getting severely dry hands and feet.  I've always had these types of skin issues (dry hands mostly) my entire life.  It is and has been more extreme than I ever previously experienced and we've tried a few steroids but not are ideal for long-term use in an effort to get it under control.  Since then, I've developed a routine of moisturizing which is the most effective and doesn't have steroid use.  My doc is happy with that and I can live with it.  

If you experience side effects, always keep your doc posted.  If it's prolonged or severe, contact them immediately.  Diarrhea isn't dangerous itself, but it can be and leave one dehydrated or without certain important vitamins, etc.  Keep your doc advised on that but it sounds like you folks are in touch.

Hi, This might be worth a look https://www.keytruda.com/static/pdf/adverse-reaction-management-tool.pdf see page 8 re collitis /diarrehea management.  Looks like treatment will resume once tummy troubles are controlled or minor.

From what I have read those with vitiligo as a side effect have a better response rate to the drug.- on average.  Rashes seem to be fairly common- I'm on treatment 3 and my eczema is worse and also have itchy blistery spots on my legs and smallish discs of rash on my thigh and round my waist- docs have prescribed dermatology consult and e45 cream and a steroid. 

As you say- everyone is different- but the chart above gives you an idea of which way the docs are likely to react. It a question of relative risk and the potential reward….
