      Please light a candle for Bob, loving husband and my best friend, The Gambler. He is currently losing his battle with this disease as his brain is swelling and hemorrhaging at a rate too quick to repair the damage done. We are in the process of assessing his situation and bringing Hospice into our home to help us get through this next phase.

          Oh Deb, this is absolutely not what I was hoping to hear for you two! Have been wondering how things have been, but dislike doing "call outs" on the BB. Love to both you and Bob. As usual, I'm lost for words in these situations. All I can say is that I hope he's not in too much physical pain (though I'm sure the emotional pain for you both is indescribable) I'm thinking of you both xxx

              I'm going to second what Nic has said.  I'm glad you will have hospice by your side as a tool on this next stage of Bob's journey.

                      Deb,

                      I just read your profile. This has been so fast for you two! I'm just so sorry!  Hospice is great, please make use of their chaplain for both of you.

                      I know melanoma is killing his body, but try to hold on to the fact that it can't touch how he'll live on in your children and your hearts and memories. It can't touch that part of him which will live on and you'll see again.

                      I wish we could find another term other than "losing" the battle. When people and their families fight so hard and are heroes, they shouldn't "lose". In my mind, melanoma loses because it can no longer do anything else and the warrior is forever free from it.

                      Praying for comfort for both of you at this time.

                      Lord, in Your mercy, hold Bob and Deb close and bring them peace and comfort. Amen.
