This is probably nothing more than normal weird body stuff… but since I finished my infusion this morning, my left hand index finger has been twitching. I feel it into my hand and it forcefully moves the finger to the side. Been 7 hours of this, pretty annoyed with it now. My arm has had some muscle twitching too, but not as much. Have a bad muscle pain on the left side of my back since last night and left side of neck too, not sure if it's related to the twitching, I may have just slept funny. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this?

Also got an email from my doc that my TSH level was higher than normal range today, compared to the past few times, it's tripled. Hoping it's a fluke, but I may be joining the hyperthyroidism club.

Hi Jenn, I had same twitching sensation while on steroids for side effects due to ippi/Nivo. Finger and arm too.. I had Neurotropic melanoma which caused twithing around tumors as well. Pretty irritating! Best, Paul

Update: Now it's 9am the next morning, it's been almost 24 hours of twitching. It isn't constant now, but it's happening at least every 5 minutes and now my arm wants to join in the fun. This is weird and I'm so over it.

If you haven;t done so already, I would reach out to your oncologist's office just to confirm it's an expected/potential side effect

I did email yesterday evening. Just got an email back asking if it was still happening and where my IV was placed. So I just responded and am waiting to see what they say next. Wonder if it's from the nurse trying to put the IV in my left hand but it didn't work so she put it in the other hand. I have had IVs placed in the top of my hands many many times now and never had this happen, but hopefully it's just a nerve thing that will go away.

My onc thinks it's most likely from the IV attempt in that hand, probably hit a nerve or something. Hopefully it goes away over the weekend. She said if it gets worse or new symptoms show up to call the after hours nurse or go to ER if any major symptoms arise. She said a heating pad might help. Guess I'll just live with Mr. Twitchy Finger for a bit.

I guess in the grand scheme of things, not the worst.  Keep us posted Jen

                        Hi Jenn,

Don't join the hyperthyroidism club.  I'm in it.  it's not too bad but just nicer not to be a member.  Watch the twitching.  I had twitching and tingling in my right foot/leg/side/shoulder and neck and they deemed it a seizure.  Hopefully yours is not that.  If you seize where I live then you have an automatic state enforced driving ban for 6 months.  So not awesome.  The oncologist on call told me to just not worry about the twitching.  "take some advil and you'll be fine".  The neurologist practically had a fit and was calling in anti seizure meds before we got off the phone.

                        Best wishes to you.

                        Jennifer

Thanks Jennifer, I definitely don't want to join the hypothyroidism club OR the seizure club 🙂

Twitching seems to have lessened a bit this afternoon, so hopefully it's calming down, but will keep what you mentioned in mind in case anything else starts to tingle or feel weird on this side.

                              The twitching is over, yay!
