      Hi Bridgette,

I hope the meetings with Dr. Ribas & Hamid went well for your son.

Did the doctor concur with Dr. Weber opinion? The worst is when the doctors cannot agree on a recommended treatment. What were their recommendations?

I live in Vegas & still looking for assitance to travel to Dr. Ribas in California. Was you son ableto get assistance with his flight to CA?/

I wish your son continued success with his Zeboraf treatment.

          Hi Marie,

All the good doctors agree on the present course of treatment – stay on Zelboraf.  But…when pressed about the eventual resistance issue, their opinions changed.  One suggested MEK, one suggested chemo variations… With the aggressiveness of Jeff's cancer, we would have to move fast.  They all agreed on that.  But, it's good that we have lots of options.  The difficult thing is trying to figure out which is the best option and who our "quarterback" will be (those were the sports terms used by Hamid – my son is very much into football).  Dr. Hamid drew out a huge chart with all the possible options, and  Dr. Ribas was great, very knowledgeable about Zelboraf – glad Jeff got a chance to see him.

We used PAL services for Florida and Angel Flights for California – (Southwest vouchers).   We had to show need (Jeff hasn't been able to work consistently), and his doctor had to fill out some forms.  Try calling Amanda Ranieri at PALS or Dana Buchman at Angel Flights.  These two ladies were fantastic and will help you out if you qualify for their services.  We now have a special place in our hearts for Southwest Airlines – very nice people.

How are you doing?  I hope you get a chance to meet with Dr. Ribas – he's a great doctor.  Let me know if you get any help with flights.  Take care and God Bless!!

I have Dr Weber and I think he's great!. One thing with melanoma is we have to be just as aggressive as it is.  Hope all goes well!
