          Hi Boot,

I haven't seen Big C, but different people react differently with a cancer diagnosis for sure…I saw a billboard the other day that had a photo of a very healthy looking man with a caption:

          "Cancer made me stronger."

I looked at Hubs and said:

          "Cancer just pisses me off."

I don't know why that particular billboard set me off on a crying jag…cancer has taken my friends…it even took my AbbeyDog. (I really need to stop crying.)

Someone once asked me if I thought the whole experience was like a gift of new perspective.    Ummm. I would like to return that gift, please.

I guess we all use different coping mechanisms, but it is hard for me to find the humor.  Even Gilda Radner said that cancer was the unfunniest thing she could think of.

I do count blessings though.  Each and every second of each and every day.

          Take good care, k.

Kim, now listen to me.  we all can moan and groan but it doesnt change (or help) us one iota!  sure I weep every so often, but I keep on trying to protect those around me, and doing that does help me a teeeeeny tiny bit.

I still miss my Muffin dog (border collie lab mix)  who died at age 14 (goodly age) had cancer and totally shot lower spine disks, but it was the cancer (bowel) that had me seek to have her gently put to sleep.  With us in attendence.  I keep thinking, hmmm if I only had money? would that have helped?  No it would not.  Our cat at the same time, called Sassy like our ArCee now pure black)  also died about a month before muffin, also of the same thing, but she was 18 and had been with me since way before our son was born.  I still mourn her, though I have two great friends with Chloe and ArCee.  Both these cats are what I call nurse cats,  they know when I am sick, even when I was dx with melanoma and breast cancers.

they stick like glue.  sleep with one paw touching the area of concern, (maybe that is coincidental)

as for ourselves,  sure thing I am first to say  I HATE CANCER  MELANOMA SUCKS the loss of our friends the fear that one day it will be me, the fear that one wee blob of what ever will be swimming around now inside of me.  But we simply CANNOT allow it to run our lives.  we are not cancer Kim and cancer Bonnie we are two lovely strong happy women who sometimes weaken with sadness.

I believe that your ABBYDOG and my two and all other loved and unloved animals have a special place in heaven if those believe it, and one day I will meet up with them.  I will see all our passed friends, family and such.  But still CANCER SUCKS.

              love from

earlidded one, boobless one, and almost a brainless gherkin, which I will certainly get fixed but I insist to be after my bonnie vrs bear for blueberries, which comes on July 8th (that be when I find what to do about my twisted squished brain
