      Hello everyone!

The beginning of the year I was diagnosed with umbilical melanoma while pregnant and to make the story short, the doctor's were able to remove my belly button and check my lymph nodes. So far I'm cancer free but would like to prevent any more cases. My grandma who had been taking barley grass powder before she died of lung cancer this year said it helped her prolong her life a little so I was curious to see if anyone had any input? I read a lot of interesting facts on drinking barley grass powder that said kills cancer cells, helps your immune system, boosts your energy, and MANY other benefits. I know a lot of things factor in to your health like what you eat, how much your exercise, and if you smoke or drink, but I was wondering if anyone has heard of drinking barley grass powder to help prevent/kill cancer? Thanks in advance!!

No harm in eating healthy… but there isn't any magical natural potion that will kill or prevent cancer… no proven scientific data to support this stuff. Sometimes it helps us feel more empowered over our bodies to take supplements and eat super healthy, so it won't hurt to try it for an overall healthier body. (just don't expect it to prevent a recurrence of cancer.. recurrence will happen either way IF it is ever going to happen)

I agree, I think it really is up to your body, I plan on taking it since it'll help with my diet and hopefully it'll help in the long run. Thanks for your input!

I've changed my diet significantly since getting diagnosed.   I eat way more fruits and vegetables.   I am also taking a Tumeric supplement which they say is anti-cancer but I think it makes you bleed more (if you have any surgeries pending).

The one thing I did stop was Whey protein.   I read a couple articles that melanoma specifically feeds off it (versus they say most cancers feed off sugar).   Im not sure if any of its true but I figured why risk it?    I don't think barley grass is related to whey but just thought I would mention it.
