Last year, my husband and I met with a nutritionist who wrote the book, Food and Cancer, What the Experts Say by Rick Weissinger. He also recommended no meat, dairy, and processed food. We now eat seafood, beans, soy food, green tea, raw nuts, whole grains, fresh herbs and seasoning especially curry, turmeric, cinnamon and garlic, crucifer vegetables(broccoli and cauliflower etc), tomatoes and some fruits especially all types of berries and melons. Also having a glass of red wine is fine. It is worth it to us if it helps in any way. You can order the book on Amazon.

I'll keep this short and sweet:
Correlation does NOT equal causation!

What’s ironic is sometimes you’ll hear stuff like “cavemen didn’t have cancer” to argue that their diet was healthier without all the chemicals and stuff we have now; but, they also ate animals. But then you also hear that sometimes they have specimens of bodies from that era that did show signs of cancer, so….

True. But the issue of animal protein and cancer growth is not simply one of correlation. I spent several years reviewing the laboratory data, animal studies, epidemiological evidence, and clinical trials in humans (in addition to interviewing researchers from all over the world) before I came to this conclusion and wrote WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY ABOUT FOOD AND CANCER. Animal protein is the ONLY macronutrient that increases IGF-1 levels significantly, and I suggest you read up on the influence of IGF-1 on cancer growth before you comment further. If you chose not to or don't believe me, go to http://www.nutritionfacts.org (Dr. Michael Grieger's website) and see his take on it. In the meantime, I would say that ANYONE that has a cancer that is made worse by growth factors like IGF-1 should avoid animal protein entirely and get their protein from plant sources.

Google up The Fast Diet. Not really a diet but a lifestyle. 5 days normal intake and the other 2 days a week restricted to 600 calories. Really interesting cancer and anti inflamatory resilts. Much easier and less bad gas then going whole hog veggie or caveman extremes.
