Hello again everyone ,
Well ,I'm still learning how to navigate through the system . Had a biopsy on the 8th of this month , and was feeling great that I never got the dreaded post biopsy phone call . But,I decided to call today just to get the results anyway ,and was told how sorry they were to have misplaced my path report , then informed me it was another melanoma . Sigh. So I told them to forward the results to my surgeon , who is on vacation for a couple of weeks , which will put my WLE some six weeks post biopsy . I suppose that's not a big deal, and I was told just to keep the punch site circled with a pen for the next few weeks so the surgeon would know where it was, since it's already healed completely . Not quite up to my standards , but what else to do? The dermatologist had looked through his scope at my lesion, and wanted to watch ,and wait, but I insisted it come off,as I have found 5 of my seven so far .
So what I've learned is to be adamant about removing what I feel to be a changing , or new lesion, and also not to take the"If you don't hear from us,it's good news" line that I hear every time I get biopsy !
Wishing you all the best…Aloha
Bob

Sorry to hear you are going through the mill again, Bob. Excellent advice to newbies though: be your own advocate (as in, alot of people find their own mels) AND always follow up results. All the best, is it a thin/stage 0 or 1 melanoma?

Yeah, this one was In situ, which I am relieved about. I am extremely vigilant on any changes, and with a few hundred atypicals to monitor , I am johnny on the spot when a new,or changing one pops up. So far it's been four with depths of .5-.8,and three In situ.
Funny what one gets use to as time goes by with this .
