I just wanted to make sure that since Keytruda is now FDA approved the EGFR requirement during the trials no longer applies. That's the thing that says if I have to be out and about in a wheelchair then I can't get it because I don't have a EGFR of 0 or 1. Although I can still walk a couple minutes.
Basically since I can walk across the room ok but to be out and about I need the wheel chair because I can't walk very far I got turned down by NIH. Which that is ok to me I think I would prefer the nivo/antilag trial instead. Fortunately I figured as much so it was just over the phone. I also figured that so I cancelled the Chicago trip.
But since Keytruda is still working pretty good for me I wanted to make sure I can get my 10th dose Tuesday even not being able to walk too good.
I checked http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/druginfo/pembrolizumab and it doesn't seem to say anything about it so I assume so but I dunno.
It's weird cause a month ago I was walking 2 miles a day fine. So I dunno what is going on with this leg and hip. Otherwise I'm doing normal for me. I haven't heard from the doc yet except he wanted me in NIH and to hold off on trying to fix the walking so if I don't hear from them over the phone I'll sure hear something when I'm there Tuesday.

Artie, I'm assuming you mean ECOG Performance Status?
http://www.ecog.org/general/perf_stat.html
I know that's what NIH uses. I don't believe that Keytruda in it's approved form has a stated ECOG PS requirement (other than 5 — do they really have to include that? ๐
What's the thinking about your leg and hip? Do they think the spinal mets are causing nerve issues that are affecting your leg and hip?

Oh yeah. ECOG. Thanks.
They haven't really started looking at my leg and hip yet. Other than the 11/3 scan showed a tumor in the end of my tibia bone in my knee the doc thought is what is causing the issue. I guess that could be the whole issue. It is certainly how it started was over a month ago I was doing my mile walk and that left leg suddenly felt odd. So I had to hobble back home. I kept pushing to try to walk and that just seemed to make it worse. Now that I don't walk much I don't get a lot of pain like I was. It could be something with the spine or I also have some in my pelvis too. But yeah right now it's just all speculation except that one in my knee he thought was what is causing the issue. I hope that is all it is. Legs, knees and hips are complicated enough to treat without adding this stupid disease into the mix. 20 or so years ago I had knee issues where the cartilege was almost all gone. Stupid me in college jumping down 5 feet to concrete almost every day to go into a building probably caused that. Back then the surgeon doc wanted physical therapy instead of surgery. It took about 10 years before I could finally walk a mile again but at least it did get better.
