I feel like I created quite a stir with my questions in my original post- cured. It was not my intent to offend anyone- but just to get perspective. I apologize if I did not comment on your thought and it offended anyone. Again- thanks for all who shared. Everyone one this board had their own battle to fight- and I am thankful for a place like here to express my thoughts! :).

No apologies needed. This is a question/discussion that comes up regularly on this board – it is probably in the back of the minds of most of us who are fortunate enough to have a N.E.D. result.
Another melanoma patient replied to one of my earlier posts (on this same subject) by saying he had found that it is not inconsistent to be optimistic and realistic at the same time. I was able to bring myself to that same place, and it's given me a lot of energy in the year+ since then.
Keep watch – keep fighting – and keep posting!

P.S. to Paul from "the other Washington" – hope you are still out there fighting, and thanks again!

No worries, sometimes the most benign post can cause quite a stir here, and yes, like Brian said "when I saw all the replies I had to check in and see what all the buzz was about" which is so true for this sight, the more replies the more attention a post gets! For the most part, I don't think there was anything that could of, should of, or would of, offended anyone, perhaps there were newbies who tend to be more reactive because of being newly diagnosed, and we all start out there, trust me!! In the beginning, you're just on fire and everthing you hear feels so full of emotion as you try to process it. If you survive long enough, you toughen up, you've been through so much and have also tried on all these scenarios and worked so very hard to arrive at your own decisions.
Please don't hesitate to return to this amazing site, so many people here, who care, sometimes a few here that take things way to personally and let you know, but they are just a few! My experience over the past four years have been full of loving caring patients, caregivers, family and friends who just want to help or fix the situation their loved one is in. For the most part everyone completely understands that these are opinions, experiences and personal choices and great feedback for the poster, that helps you find your way with your own scenario through the melanoma maze!
Take care and I hope you live life to the fullest and without worry of melanoma, even though it will always be in the back of your mind. I am stage IV and lived awhile in limbo and then decided one day, what if I'm in limbo for 30 years, I will miss out on a lot of life! So I just do it, whatever it is!
Don't worry about tomorrow, tomorrow will take care of itself!

Thank you so much all of you. It was never/is never my intent to hurt others' feelings or insult them. I do need to realize like my emotions run high and can be all over the place- that is true for others on this forum too.
I am hoping to learn a lot while being here, be encouraged, make new friends, and realize to keep moving and pray for the best for each of us!
