Hello i'm Ginger.. Was stage 3 C i guess until today after my Dr. appt…I had a biospy done last week on a lymph node on my neck..I had a dissection back in feb..Well the node tested positive and i'm worried sick..I have adopted my 14 old grandson and a single grandma..My oncologist here( in my area) has been in constant with my Melanoma Specialist since he's been seeing me..My specialist is meeting with others to figure out what to do next..I finishedthe 30 interferon about a month ago with no problems and am worried what the next step will do to me..

Ginger,
Was the previous disection on the neck as well? I'll be curious what your doctors recommend. Like the other poster mentioned, if the lung spots can't be positively identified as melanoma then you would still be stage IIIc and more than likely NED. Not sure what your options would be at that point other than watch and wait or an adjuvant trial. It sounds like you have a pretty good team that you are happy with but you may want to think about 2nd opinions. Where are you located?
Hang in there Ginger. The way you handled interferon I can tell you are a tough cookie. I know you are at a scary as hell time but it will get better.

Yes my disection surgery was back in Feb..I started the interferon in April then a couple weeks later they did the scan..The lymph node was swollen before the interferon and the spots were there also but after the interferon they showed up better on the scan so they decided to do a biopsy and found it in the lymph node..The only side effects with the interferon was just the first day with chills and fever and the last week of treat my wbc got low but all my blood work is great right now..Thank you for your help..I won't find anything out until next week..The waiting is crazy…

Thank you so much, i just got back..My Melanoma specialist got back with him and they decided on what treatment options were..Either another neck disection or start on Yervoy in about 3 weeks..I chose the Yervoy..Anyone have any suggestion on how to make it easier to deal with side effects?
