Hello,
It has been a while since I have posted anything. This December will be 3 years NED for me. I was diagnosed as Stage 3C in October 2009. I had CT scans done last week and I got the call from my Oncologist today saying that they see something on my pancreas. I am now going for a PET scan and a more detailed CT scan. I'm praying that it is nothing. Has anyone had a CT scan show something and then have it come back negative for melanoma? I'm scared.

Yes. I had an area of suspicion show up on a CT scan near where I had the lymph nodes removed from under my left armpit. My doctor couldn't say with 100% certainty that is was scar tissue so I was scheduled for an ultrasound and a fine needle aspiration. No fine needle aspiration was necessary. The ultrasound showed that I had a bulging blood vessel in the area of suspicion. Apparently that was related to the surgery I'd had. Whew!

Several months ago I had something on my spleen show on both CT and PET. Eight weeks later it was gone. Over the years I've had several CT findings in my lungs – these all turned out to be benign.
Best wishes,
Harry

Yes, I have had areas that showed on scans, and turned out to be nothing. People have things that come and go like cysts and the like, but many never know it . Due to the frequency of our scans, it is more likely that we see them from time to time. Always unnerving, though!
