5th cycle of Zelboraf

  Like you dad I am on Zelboraf for just over 5 months now.It does work like a miracle drug.Will see doc o 2/21. At that time I will ask for a scan..Remember this drug is so new that noone knows for  sure how ong it will work.The 7 months is just a number.There is someone on this  site who is on Zelboraf for 23 months.Hope we can all be on it for well over that while waiting for a real cure.My prayers go out to you.

Since the start of my Zelboraf treatment, I have had scans every six weeks.  From February 2010 to July 2011 they were PET/CT scans then just CT (CT scan scheduled for February 13^th).  My doctor visits were every three weeks until June 2011 and then they changed to every six weeks.  Also, during the entire period, I have had derm evaluations every twelve weeks.

Probably not the information you are seeking since these frequencies are governed by the trial protocols but I thought I would pass on anyway.

Nahmi, I think that 3 to 6 monthly scans are ideal unless there is a reason to have a scan sooner. 

I wouldn't take the median response time too seriously. I feel that statistics only measure what has happened with a group of people in the past, and therefore might not necessarily predict what will happen in every individual case.
