The article is fine as far as it goes and for as targeted as it is (mostly younger children). It is not at all helpful for kids whose parents are diagnosed with Stage IV melanoma, nor does it address how to handle the availability of the internet and search engines. The "bottom line" – get them in therapy.

Hospice has helped me greatly in figuring how to discuss the situation with my oldest daughter (4) and they put me in touch with a woman at Mount Sinai (Toronto) who went through a sample conversation to have with her and included a drawing of cancer cells that was a visual for her. I haven't had the conversation with her yet but need to soon as she wonders why we always go to Toronto to have fun without her and her sisters…soon though – we have scans on Friday and results on Tuesday to see what ipi has done. Pretty stressful right now…very anxious.
