Hi, my friend David (3a nodular melanoma) had one dose of Keytruda October and within 3 weeks kidney failure. Thankfully his blood pressure is getting back to normal and kidneys have come back to functioning with dialysis (in hospital).
Recovery from all the side effects has been long and difficult. In addition to kidney failure (which also affected his cognition), he has joint pain, fatigue, headaches, weight loss, muscle loss, etc. has been going on for months.
Should he have more dialysis to aid in removing or diluting the Keytruda?
Is there any thing that he can do to help get this out of his body more quickly? (He has just had a negative reaction to this drug that is severe)
His doctor tells him to drink water-which he has due to his extreme thirst. He gets blood work every week which varies potassium normal then low-same with BUN etc.. He is seeing a new Oncologist, etc.-so maybe that may help.
Has any one else had similar problems? Kidney failure or the need to get Keytruda out of their body?
