I just had my second injection last Thursday. I’ve had a headache since Monday evening. I did contact my oncologist and she said to try ibuprofen and call again if it persited past the weekend. That did help, but it is still hurts if I don’t take it today. I’m wondering how bad pituitary gland swelling hurts so I can know what to watch for. Anyone have any experience with headaches in Novo?

I had hypophysitis from Ipi. I had a medium headache and wanted to lay around (trying to sleep) all the time. At the time I thought my headache was from pituitary swelling but now I think it was from my cortisol dropping due to pituitary swelling. I think everyone on Ipi (or PD1 inhibitors) should ask to have their cortisol checked (simple blood test). We have our liver enzymes checked, thyroid levels checked, why not also cortisol? (The first time my cortisol was checked the reading was too low to measure. No I'm on hydrocortisone pills.)

Thanks, I'll talk to my doctor about getting cortisol tested.

If you have fatigue along with the headache, I'd definitely request labwork to check cortisol, thyroid and other adrenal functions.  Take care.

Thanks, I haven't really felt fatigued, but I think I'll ask about testing cortisol anyways.
