On the 19th I had minimally invasive lymphadectomy groin my Dr accidentally cut my femoral artery and a vascular surgeon had to be called in to remove a 3in section and reconnect.
since then my thigh is 100% numb and from my knee to my ankle has horrible nerve damage.
My insurance ran out so I have been put in a nursing home. My original tumor location is red and infected, my drain tube they took all the dressing off so it's just being held on by stitchs. Today is the 26th how do I get out of here?

I had my lymphadectomy going on 4 years ago. While I didn't have the minimally invasive type, I have a huge cut going up my side and it doesn't end until 6 in down my thigh, so yeah, huge!. My wle and my groin ended up with infections so that added a long hospital stay as well. I also have the same thing in my thigh, lymphadema. Just take it one day at a time and I'm sure you will get better. Everything you are saying was the same with me including the drain tubes. Both of mine stayed in for almost 2 months. They just kept draining and draining. I'm guessing if you have a lot of fluid with the drain tubes you will probably end up with lyphadema as well. I'm basing that on my own experiences. My thigh is still numb as well. I've had severe nerve damage in other areas of my body as well and I can tell you that will not go away. It does get less in time and your limb will feel like a part of your body again. Lymphadema is a pain in the *ss but you can totally live with it and do most of the things you used to do. Hang in there, take it one day at a time and time will tell what you are left to deal with. Hope this helps!

Sorry to hear about your situation. I would ask to speak with the Medical Director/Doctor in charge to make sure you get treatment right away for the infection. About being in a nursing home, are you located in the US? I would ask to speak to Administration (Benefits Person) at the Nursing home and find out to whom are they billing the charges to?Because nursing home care is really expensive. Your insurance was what? Do you have medicare, medicaid, etc? Did the previous hospital discharge you for not having any insurance? You do have a right to discharge yourself however if you need medical care currently, then I would also ask to speak with the Social Worker to work on another option/payment options for care besides staying there.
