      Hello,

My husbands pathology report states the below in the comment section, could someone please help me work out what this means.

'A difficult meloncytic lesion. There is at least melanoma in situ and in one early level a solitary atypical dermal meloncyte. This is deemed early largely regressed melanoma'

it is the early large regression which has me confused.

His report states 0.4mm, no ulceration, mitotic figure 0 per mm2, superficial spreading, radial growth phase, brisk TIL. I know all of these are signs of good prognosis however I can't help but think they aren't true as it had largely regressed therefore could have been deeper/VGP etc

Any advice would be appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚

Nurse has confirmed it had extensively regressed… Really need help understanding regression. Please help?

          My questions are:

If regressed over 75% (I don't know I'm just guessing) could this mean it was at max depth of 1.6mm as what was left was 0.4mm? Just trying to do maths.

Would regression hide factors such as mitotic rate/ Clark level/ maybe vertical growth phase?

i know I shouldn't but Google is making me miserable all I read is how extensive regression is bad… I used to concentrate a lot on the other positives. But now I feel knowing it has extensively regressed has all of the other things been put into question and not accurate..
