Hi Guys-
I've seen some posts recently about fever and ipi. This is something I've been experiencing for tha pst couple weeks…right after 3rd dose. Typically it's a low grade fever, sometimes I get chills & sweats. I saw my onc on Thursday and mentioned but she wasn't concerned at this point as inflammatory responses are uncommon. Anyone have any insight into this? While I'd love to think it's a strong immune response, I'm also concerned. Today was worst day yet…

Hey Josh,
Good to hear from you and sorry ipi is being a pain in the head. But it seems adverse reactions also equal increased desirable response. Needless to say mel is an unpredictable bad-boy, but it seems any reaction turns out to be a good reaction. If I'm counting right you are at 4th infusion, last before your trial. Hang in there and stay positive.

I had five days of low grade fever tht led into my low grade headaches that led into my big headaches that wound up being my pituitary being compromised. During my fevers I also experienced a soreness in the muscles of my forearms which oddly enough became the site of where my vitiligo spots are most prevalent. Don't know if I wish these things on you but if bad things equal good things I wish you the worst. Lol.

Thanks Gary!! You're right on both points, adverse reaction can be immune response and unfortunately this crap can be a bad boy, low tumor burden to I guess what my docs say is moderate tumor burden. My local Mel specialist and MDA onc decided I should skip 4th dose, which again you're right; would've been this week. I'll be getting more ipi on 23rd of Sept. The plan is IL-2 injection right after cell infusion on 22nd followed by ipi. I've got to get those cells!! Thank you for all the kind responses Gary.

Hi,My Mom had the chills and fevers you describe. We ended up at the hospital twice for a few days each time because they got pretty bad. The second time the ER doc thought she had meningitis and she had to take a ambulance to LA.
They ran every test, she had all sorts or x-rays and they found nothing. She just needed a bit of Tylenol when she got a fever and she was fine.
They decided it was a side effect. And she ended up with some pretty amazing results!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hi Josh.
I had my first Ipi last week and I've had very low grade chills ever since then. Not constant, but 5 or 6 small episodes a day. I just thought it was my immune system kicking into overdrive.

Just quick update, it was like sweating to oldies last night, woke up early nice and soaked. Got things dry and slept until 30 min ago…feel fine. So not untypical…see if fever decides to visit at some point. I'm just glad to get a break from Tylenol and ibuprofen.

Yep, my dad had a fever on 104 for 3 days after the 2nd infusion. Went away and he was dehydrated and got numerous bags of fluids. -

Hang in there, Josh! I’m thinking about you and hoping the side effects of the Ipi get better soon! -

Thank you everyone for your response. This was very different from my first experience with ipi. I think it was more cramping and maybe the chills or a night sweat. This has been going on for at least 3 weeks. Hoping & praying my immune system is fired up! Anyway, I appreciate everyone's kindness in responding with experiences and encouragement. I always think of you all as the kindest people I've personally never been able to meet.
