Yes, some really interesting work going on at IBM getting computers to recognise Melonomas from path slides and images.
This press release is about work in Australia on a molemap application

Anything that speeds up and increases the accuracy of pathology reports is great- and it should allow for more samples to be examined in more detail- again improving accuracy for patients. Would be great to have an automated second opinion on that pathology report- and to help point the way where the distinctions are not clear cut. Lets hope IMB can make the application affordable too.
