This might to be the next generation of CAR T-cell Therapy.
Sounds like it may be going to phase I soon. I searched CRISPR on clinicaltrials.gov and nothing came up.
Did find this trial that is not yet recruiting but seems really interesting as well. Anyone out west looking for a trial might want to contact Dr. Ribbas' office to see if it might be starting soon.

Both of those do sound very interesting with a lot of potential promise, Brian! On the trial using genetically modified T cells, vaccine therapy and nivo in treating patients with tumors expressing NY-ESO-1….this bit of info may help explain why!!!
In my trial in which Nivo was given with peptide vaccines, this was revealed in the analysis of results:
"Biomarker studies showed that elevated NY-ESO 1 and MART 1 specific CD8 T cells pre-treatment were associated with non-response, while CTLA-4 positive CD4T cells and T regulatory cells were elevated after treatment with nonresponders." Here's a link here to read it for yourself: http://chaoticallypreciselifeloveandmelanoma.blogspot.com/2013/05/phase-iii-trial-of-pd1-antibody.html
So getting those modified t cells in there may make a world of difference to folks with NY-ESO 1 expressing tumors!! Way to go reseachers and ratties. Have to see if the trial becomes active and what happens…but this is how I know work continues to go forward and I have great hope for the future!! Thanks for sharing, Brian!!!

Good info Celeste. Here's another article on CRISPR. There's another board (SMART Patients) that I log onto occasionally and this CRISPR has a lot of buzz. Like many innovations it's not without it's controversy. It was nice to see Dr. Atkins (melanoma guy) mentioned in that article.

Thanks for the additional link, Brian. Of course, as with all things, we'll have to see what the poor ratties show..but it is nice to see new research building on what prior studies have taught us! This study regarding t cell exhaustion came out of ASCO this year: http://chaoticallypreciselifeloveandmelanoma.blogspot.com/2016/06/asco-2016-measuring-t-cell-exhaution-to.html
Have a great weekend! C
