I am new to this form and have several questions.  I have numerous sun damaged spots on my face and head.  Some of the spots are crusty and others , lesions, bleed if I scratch them.  I have one on the right temple area of the face.  It hurts really bad if I push it in or rub it.  I feel like I am getting pin pricking that goes way down deep.  In fact any of them that I touch have that pin pricking feeling all the way down.  Any comments on these spots and bleeding lesions?

Scabby, crusty and sore sound like they could easily be one of the lesser skin cancers.  Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) or Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC).  Or Actinic Keratosis (AK) which are precursors to SCC.  Since both of those cancers are tied directly to sun exposure and the places you listed are all sun exposed areas, I would say that SCC or BCC or AK are likely.  These typically present are crusty/scabby and can turn into sores that never heal.  Based on your description (which doesn't exactly sound like melanoma), I'd see a derm for evaluation.  BCC and SCC are the most common type of cancers diagnosed.  If you have a lot of sun exposed skin, your risk for melanoma is probably higher, too.  But your description sounds more like BCC/SCC/AK.  See a derm for a full evaluation!

Agree with the post above, squamous cell, basal cell or actinic ketosis. Especially agree though with the suggestion to see a dermatologist. Squamous particularly if left untreated can turn metastatic. See a dermatologist and get the professional opinion/treatment that you need sooner rather than later.
