This is such good news for us. My husband "progressed"'on ipi and with microwave ablation is now NED. We didn't know how to deal with it . To know now that if it reoccurs, that re treatment with ipi works well. What is even better is that many patients in his situation remain NED. We are thrilled and so grateful. Hang in there everyone! There is hope.

Hi, am new to this board so do forgive me . I am stage 4 liver ,lungs just had ippi going for scans tomorrow to see how it's gone I have pain were my tumours are not sure if it's ippi or they have got bigger I pray ippi working. I do not have braf in my gene so limited treatment in UK feel disappointed that in Uk they do not try mixing treatments or at least giving you some hope. When you said had ablation after ippi where was your mel . I've been told not got Pd1 available yet in Uk so trial but am seeking treatment else where

His mets was a small one in his liver. His initial Mel was under his thumbnail. He had a partial amputation and a lymphendectomy prior to going on a clinical trial. He received 4 doses of 10 mg ipi before he showed "progression"' I think it is pretty rare to only have mets in one spot in the liver. There was a recent retrospective article about ablation and how melanoma patients do well with it if qualified ( small lesions) the authors were optimistic that ablation would work even better in conjunction with immunotherapy. My advice is to seek a surgical opinion. If they can zap the mets, go for it. The surgery is not that bad.
