Hi there friends!
Yes we need some good news! After seemingly forever (ok, only 3 weeks!) I now have a new date to start treatment. It's taken a lot of wrangling between Rock Star Doc's office, my insurance company and Merck, but I've finally gotten a date to begin Pembro! I start on Monday afternoon. Also, because of all the insurance denials and foot dragging (and the fact that I don't make a lot of money), Merck has accepted me into their access program and I'll get it free for a year. AMAZING!!!!
So grateful!
Julie

Julie,
So very glad it all worked out insurance wise. Not like you had anything better to do than fight with them!? Gracious! I wish you every success with your treatment plan! Hang tough! Celeste

Pembro the little clear bag of magic medicine. Good luck. Merck did that free year for me too which suprised me. Then if it's working great they said I could reapply for another year. My nurse did all the work for it I just had to fill out a simple form for her.

Great news Julie! See my prior (recent) post on infusion-related side effects–which I understand may diminish over time. My experience so far (after 2 infusions) is that I intermittently feel like crap (flu-like symptoms) for the first 5-7 days, then I generally feel fine and then repeat.
